"he threatened to ruin my life if I told anyone."

(18-19 years old during relationship)

"He would stop me seeing my friends and would control where I went and what I spent money on. Eventually I lost most of my friends because I was never allowed to see them. After a few years the controlling behaviour got worse, along with physical and sexual abuse."

(19-24 years old during relationship)

"38% of those who answered our survey who had been abused said they were abused under the age of 18 by their partner."

WHERE IS
OUR SUPPORT?

"The age group with the highest risk of experiencing domestic abuse in their relationship is 16-24."

"1 in 3 16-18 year olds said they have experienced unwanted sexual touching at school by their peers."

"Sexual violence is even more prevalent for younger women as one in three teenage girls has experienced some form of sexual violence from a partner."

Help Young Victims of Partner Abuse and Sexual Assault

Young Abuse Support

Inspired by our own experiences, Young Abuse Support (YAS) was established in 2020 with hopes that younger people would not have to go through the same trauma. Since, we have built a team of survivors who work hard to create resources to help protect young people from intimate partner abuse. Here you can learn more about who we are and what we do.
